"Sparking Change: Building Resilience and Sustainability in Global Environmental Health." Lisa Thompson, professor in Emory School of Nursing, delivers the 2024 Hugh P. Davis Lecture. At 4 pm in the School of Nursing, P01 auditorium.

"Epidemiology and Control of Lyme Disease." Sam Telford from Tufts University is featured in the Emory Infectious Disease Across Scales Seminar Series. At 3 pm in the Claudia Nance Rollins Building, room 1051.

Wednesday, April 17

"From HAL to HER: AI in Film." Emory Cinematique screens "The Matrix," the 1999 blockbuster that interrogates the nature of free will through kinetic filmmaking and wall-to-wall ass-kicking.  The screening will be followed by a Q&A. At 7:30 pm in White Hall, room 208. Free and open to the public.

"Evolutionary Ecology and Genetics of Avian Influenza Virus in Wild Bird Hosts." Michelle Wille from the University of Melbourne is featured in the Emory Infectious Disease Across Scales Seminar Series. At 3 pm in the Claudia Nance Rollins Building, room 1051.

"From HAL to HER: AI in Film." Emory Cinematique screens "Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning," which squares off star Tom Cruise against a rogue AI that threatens the balance of world power. The screening will be followed by a Q&A. At 7:30 pm in White Hall, room 208. Free and open to the public.

"Economics Student Research Fair." Poster presentations by Emory Economics honors students and doctoral students. In the Emory Student Center, multi-purpose rooms 5 and 6, from 1 to 5 pm.

"AI.Dive: AI Discoveries, Innovations and Ventures at Emory." An opportunity to listen to research, engage in panel discussions, network and view student projects related to artificial intelligence.  From 10 am to 6 pm in Woodruff Library and the Center for AI Learning.
